Textiles are 'it' for me.

I've embroidered since I was a little girl and simply can't imagine a life centred around anything else.

If I won the lottery, this is what I would do. Maybe somewhere sunnier, but I would still be stitching!

The thrill of a bold, large piece, the reassurance of simple repetitive stitches, the rhythm of intricate pleated folds, the endless mix and layering of colour and pattern....I never tire of the wonder and possibility.

my super hero powers

I'm a little like the elves in The Elves and the Shoemaker or the mice in The Tailor of Gloucester.

Very quietly, behind the scenes and without a fuss, I sit and conjure up exquisite work that makes everyone exceptionally happy. Barely visible, yet completely essential.

and the rest of my life?

When I'm not absorbed in my studio I'm either outdoors walking, gardening, learning to kayak, or I'm indoors making food, reading, enjoying downtime and probably laughing. Seeing the bright side is a bit of a 'thing' for me, so if we do get to work together...expect smiles!
